Anti-EPV antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target EPV is a known alias name of the protein FLVCR heme transporter 2, encoded by the FLVCR2 gene in humans. This 526-amino acid residue protein is known to act as a importer of heme. It is localized to the cell membrane of the cell. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be expressed in non-hematopoietic tissues, with relative abundant expression in the brain, placenta, lung, liver and kidney. Indicated applications for EPV antibodies listed below include ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry.
