Anti-D40 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target D40 is a known alias name of the protein kinetochore scaffold 1, encoded by the KNL1 gene in humans. This 2342-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in cell division, among other biological processes. It is localized to the nucleus of the cell. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be highly expressed in the testis, where it is localized in germ cells, in particular in spermatocytes and in the pre-acrosome of round spermatids. Indicated applications for D40 antibodies listed below include ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry.
