Anti-C42 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the C42 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the CDK5RAP1 gene, which encodes CDK5 regulatory subunit associated protein 1. This protein is known to function in brain development and regulation of neuron differentiation, among other biological roles. The human version of C42 has a canonical amino acid length of 601 residues and a protein mass of 67.7 kilodaltons, although 6 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the mitochondria of cells. Other names for this target antigen include C20orf34 and CGI-05. Indicated applications for C42 antibodies listed below include ELISA, Flow Cytometry, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry.
