Anti-C2GNT1 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target C2GNT1 is a known alias name of the protein glucosaminyl (N-acetyl) transferase 1, encoded by the GCNT1 gene in humans. This 428-amino acid residue protein is a reported glycosyltransferase that catalyzes the transfer of an N-acetylglucosamine (GlcNAc) moiety in beta1-6 linkage from UDP-GlcNAc onto mucin-type core 1 O-glycan to form the branched mucin-type core 2 O-glycan. It is localized to the Golgi of the cell and features glycosylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be highly expressed in activated T-lymphocytes and myeloid cells. Other synonyms for C2GNT1 include C2GNT and C2GNT-L.
