Anti-ELF antibodies detect the protein encoded by the gene SPTBN1, or 'spectrin beta, non-erythrocytic 1' in humans. The 2364-amino acid protein is a member of the Spectrin family. The cellular localization is predicted to be cytoplasmic and membrane-associated. Glycosylation sites have been reported.
