Anti-CNF antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the CNF antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the NPHS1 gene, which encodes NPHS1 adhesion molecule, nephrin. This protein is known to function in cell adhesion and skeletal muscle tissue development, among other biological roles. The human version of CNF has a canonical amino acid length of 1241 residues and a protein mass of 134.7 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cell membrane of cells and notably expressed in the kidney. Other names for this target antigen include NPHN and nephrin. Some CNF antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry are common applications for these antibodies.
