Anti-BUP1 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the BUP1 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the UPB1 gene, which encodes beta-ureidopropionase 1. This protein is known to function in in utero embryonic development and liver development, among other biological roles. The human version of BUP1 has a canonical amino acid length of 384 residues and a protein mass of 43.2 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the cytoplasm of cells and notably expressed in the kidney and liver. This target antigen may also be known as beta-ureidopropionase.
