Anti-Bhc antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The Bhc antigen is another term for the human protein NK2 homeobox 1, encoded by the NKX2-1 gene. The protein is reported to be a transcription factor that binds and activates the promoter of thyroid specific genes such as thyroglobulin, thyroperoxidase, and thyrotropin receptor. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 371 residues and a mass of 38.6 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and it is expressed in the thyroid gland, nasopharynx, lung, and bronchus. The Bhc protein is a member of the NK-2 homeobox protein family. Other alias names for Bhc include BCH and NK-2. Western Blot is a widely used application for the Bhc antibodies listed below. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
