Anti-ERAAP antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target ERAAP is a known alias name of the protein endoplasmic reticulum aminopeptidase 1, encoded by the ERAP1 gene in humans. This 941-amino acid residue protein is a reported aminopeptidase that plays a central role in peptide trimming, a step required for the generation of most HLA class I-binding peptides. It is localized to the ER of the cell and features N-glycosylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is ubiquitously expressed across many tissue types. Other synonyms for ERAAP include A-LAP, ALAP, and APPILS.
