Anti-CMC2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein C-X9-C motif containing 2. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 79 amino acid residues and a mass of 9.5 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the CMC protein family, CMC2 is suspected to be involved in cytochrome c oxidase biogenesis. Synonyms for this target antigen include COX assembly mitochondrial protein 2 homolog and C-x(9)-C motif containing 2. CMC2 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Western Blot is the most common application for the CMC2 antibodies listed below. ELISA, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
