Anti-CACL antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the CACL antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the SLC25A29 gene, which encodes solute carrier family 25 member 29. This protein is reported to be a mitochondrial transporter of arginine, lysine, homoarginine, methylarginine and, to a much lesser extent, ornithine and histidine. The human version of CACL has a canonical amino acid length of 303 residues and a protein mass of 32.1 kilodaltons, although 3 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the mitochondria of cells. CACL is a member of the Mitochondrial carrier (TC 2.A.29) protein family.
