Anti-BRIL antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the BRIL antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the IFITM5 gene, which encodes interferon induced transmembrane protein 5. This protein is known to function in in utero embryonic development, among other biological roles. The human version of BRIL has a canonical amino acid length of 132 residues and a protein mass of 14.4 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the cell membrane of cells. BRIL is a member of the CD225/Dispanin protein family.
