Anti-EIF3-alpha antibodies detect the protein encoded by the gene EIF3J, or 'eukaryotic translation initiation factor 3 subunit J' in humans. The 258-amino acid protein is a member of the EIF-3 subunit J family. The cellular localization is predicted to be cytoplasmic.
