Anti-dps antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target dps is a known alias name of the protein decaprenyl diphosphate synthase subunit 1, encoded by the PDSS1 gene in humans. This 415-amino acid residue protein is reported to be a heterotetrameric enzyme that catalyzes the condensation of farnesyl diphosphate (FPP), which acts as a primer, and isopentenyl diphosphate (IPP) to produce prenyl diphosphates of varying chain lengths and participates in the determination of the side chain of ubiquinone. It is localized to the mitochondria of the cell. Other synonyms for dps include COQ1, COQ1, and COQ10D2. Indicated applications for dps antibodies listed below include ELISA and Western Blot.
