Anti-BS antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target BS is a known alias name of the protein BLM RecQ like helicase, encoded by the BLM gene in humans. This 1417-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in DNA damage pathways and DNA repair, among other biological processes. It is localized to the nucleus of the cell and features ubiquitinated and phosphorylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be widely expressed in many tissue types.
