Anti-ATG18B antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target ATG18B is a known alias name of the protein WD repeat domain, phosphoinositide interacting 2, encoded by the WIPI2 gene in humans. This 454-amino acid residue protein is a known component of the autophagy machinery that controls the major intracellular degradation process by which cytoplasmic materials are packaged into autophagosomes and delivered to lysosomes for degradation. It is localized to the membrane of the cell. In terms of tissue expression, it is ubiquitously expressed across many tissue types. Other synonyms for ATG18B include Atg21 and CGI-50.
