Anti-ABCC antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the ABCC antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the ABCA3 gene, which encodes ATP binding cassette subfamily A member 3. This protein is known to function in the metabolism of lipids and lung development, among other biological roles. The human version of ABCC has a canonical amino acid length of 1704 residues and a protein mass of 191.4 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cytoplasmic vesicles and lysosomes of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. ABCC is a member of the ABCA protein family.
