Anti-64kD antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The 64kD antigen is another term for the human protein leiomodin 1, encoded by the LMOD1 gene. The protein is known to be required for proper contractility of visceral smooth muscle cells. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 600 residues and a mass of 67 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm and it is notably expressed in the lung vascular smooth muscle. The 64kD protein is a member of the Tropomodulin protein family. Other alias names for 64kD include 1D and D1.
