Anti-DSG antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target DSG is a known alias name of the protein desmoglein 1, encoded by the DSG1 gene in humans. This 1049-amino acid residue protein is known to be a component of intercellular desmosome junctions. It is localized to the cell membrane, nucleus, and cytoplasm of the cell and features glycosylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be expressed in the vagina, skin, oral mucosa, esophagus, and cervix. Other synonyms for DSG include CDHF4 and DG1. Western Blot is the most common application for the DSG antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
