Anti-DRC3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein dynein regulatory complex subunit 3. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 523 amino acid residues and a mass of 61.1 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed in the fallopian tube. A member of the DRC3 protein family, DRC3 is a known component of the nexin-dynein regulatory complex (N-DRC) a key regulator of ciliary/flagellar motility which maintains the alignment and integrity of the distal axoneme and regulates microtubule sliding in motile axonemes. Synonyms for this target antigen include leucine rich repeat containing 48 and leucine-rich repeat-containing protein 48. DRC3 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species.
