Anti-Bri antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target Bri is a known alias name of the protein integral membrane protein 2B, encoded by the ITM2B gene in humans. This 266-amino acid residue protein is reported to play a regulatory role in the processing of the amyloid-beta A4 precursor protein (APP) and acts as an inhibitor of the amyloid-beta peptide aggregation and fibrils deposition. It is localized to the Golgi and cell membrane of the cell and features glycosylated and cleaved post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is ubiquitously expressed across many tissue types. Other synonyms for Bri include ABRI and BRI2. Indicated applications for Bri antibodies listed below include ELISA, Flow Cytometry, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry.
