Anti-ADHX antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The ADHX antigen is another term for the human protein alcohol dehydrogenase 5 (class III), chi polypeptide, encoded by the ADH5 gene. The protein is known to catalyze the oxidation of long-chain primary alcohols and the oxidation of S-(hydroxymethyl) glutathione. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 374 residues and a mass of 39.7 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm and it is widely expressed in many tissue types. The ADHX protein is a member of the Zinc-containing alcohol dehydrogenase protein family. Other alias names for ADHX include ADH-3 and AMEDS. Indicated applications for ADHX antibodies listed below include ELISA, Western Blot, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry.
