Anti-ACS4 antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The ACS4 antigen is another term for the human protein acyl-CoA synthetase long chain family member 4, encoded by the ACSL4 gene. The protein is known to catalyze the conversion of long-chain fatty acids to their active form acyl-CoA for both synthesis of cellular lipids, and degradation via beta-oxidation. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 711 residues and a mass of 79.2 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria, ER, and cell membrane and it is widely expressed in many tissue types. The ACS4 protein is a member of the ATP-dependent AMP-binding enzyme protein family. Other alias names for ACS4 include FACL4. Western Blot is a widely used application for the ACS4 antibodies listed below. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
