Anti-Bcg antibodies detect the protein encoded by the gene SLC11A1, or 'solute carrier family 11 member 1' in humans. The 550-amino acid protein is a member of the NRAMP family. The cellular localization is predicted to be membrane-associated. Glycosylation sites have been reported.
