Anti-AUTS17 antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The AUTS17 antigen is another term for the human protein SH3 and multiple ankyrin repeat domains 2, encoded by the SHANK2 gene. The protein is suspected to be an adapter protein in the postsynaptic density (PSD) of excitatory synapses that interconnects receptors of the postsynaptic membrane including NMDA-type and metabotropic glutamate receptors, and the actin-based cytoskeleton. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 1849 residues and a mass of 201.3 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane and cytoplasm and it is expressed in many tissues, such as the caudate, vagina, and appendix. The AUTS17 protein is a member of the SHANK protein family. Other alias names for AUTS17 include CORTBP1 and CTTNBP1.
