Anti-5'-NT antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target 5'-NT is a known alias name of the protein acid phosphatase 3, encoded by the ACP3 gene in humans. This 386-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in the metabolism of lipids, among other biological processes. It is localized to the cell membrane, nucleus, lysosomes, cytoplasm, and is secreted of the cell and features N-glycosylated and cleaved post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be highly expressed in the prostate, restricted to glandular and ductal epithelial cells. ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry are common applications for 5'-NT antibodies.
