Anti-BACAT antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the BACAT antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the BAAT gene, which encodes bile acid-CoA:amino acid N-acyltransferase. This protein is known to function in fatty acid metabolism and liver development, among other biological roles. The human version of BACAT has a canonical amino acid length of 418 residues and a protein mass of 46.3 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the cytoplasm of cells and notably expressed in the gallbladder and liver. This target antigen may also be known as BACD1. Indicated applications for BACAT antibodies listed below include ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry.
