Anti-aSMase antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target aSMase is a known alias name of the protein sphingomyelin phosphodiesterase 1, encoded by the SMPD1 gene in humans. This 631-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in cholesterol metabolism and homeostasis and the metabolism of lipids, among other biological processes. It is localized to the lysosomes and is secreted of the cell and features glycosylated, cleaved and phosphorylated post-translational modifications. Other synonyms for aSMase include ASM and NPD. Indicated applications for aSMase antibodies listed below include ELISA, Flow Cytometry, Western Blot, Immunocytochemistry, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry.
