Anti-B4GALT antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the B4GALT antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the B4GALNT2 gene, which encodes beta-1,4-N-acetyl-galactosaminyltransferase 2. This protein is known to function in metabolic processes, among other biological roles. The human version of B4GALT has a canonical amino acid length of 566 residues and a protein mass of 63.3 kilodaltons, although 3 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the Golgi of cells and notably expressed in the small intestine, rectum, colon, and appendix. B4GALT is a member of the Glycosyltransferase 2 protein family.
