Anti-ALCAT1 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target ALCAT1 is a known alias name of the protein lysocardiolipin acyltransferase 1, encoded by the LCLAT1 gene in humans. This 414-amino acid residue protein is a member of the 1-acyl-sn-glycerol-3-phosphate acyltransferase protein family. It is localized to the ER of the cell. In terms of tissue expression, it is noted to be expressed at higher level in the heart, kidney and pancreas than in the brain, spleen, liver, lung, small intestine and placenta.
