Anti-ADAM 12 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the ADAM 12 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the ADAM12 gene, which encodes ADAM metallopeptidase domain 12. This protein is known to function in cell adhesion and the regulation of angiogenesis, among other biological roles. The human version of ADAM 12 has a canonical amino acid length of 909 residues and a protein mass of 99.5 kilodaltons, although 4 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cell membrane and is secreted of cells and notably expressed in the placenta and testis.
