Anti-SPC3 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target SPC3 is a known alias name of the protein proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 1, encoded by the PCSK1 gene in humans. This 753-amino acid residue protein is reported to be involved in processing of hormone and other protein precursors at sites comprised of pairs of basic amino acid residues. It is localized to the cytoplasmic vesicles of the cell and features O-glycosylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be expressed in the small intestine, pancreas, duodenum, cerebral cortex, and adrenal gland.
