Anti-NOP antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target NOP is a known alias name of the protein prepronociceptin, encoded by the PNOC gene in humans. This 176-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in chemical synaptic transmission and signal transduction pathways, among other biological processes. The protein is secreted and features cleaved post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be highly expressed in the the brain and spinal cord. Other synonyms for NOP include N/OFQ and OFQ. Western Blot is the most common application for the NOP antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
