Anti-SCARD1 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target SCARD1 is a known alias name of the protein CD68 molecule, encoded by the CD68 gene in humans. This 354-amino acid residue protein is suspected to be play a role in phagocytic activities of tissue macrophages, both in intracellular lysosomal metabolism and extracellular cell-cell and cell-pathogen interactions. It is localized to the lysosomes and cell membrane of the cell and features O-glycosylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be expressed in many tissues, such as the cerebellum and endometrium. Other synonyms for SCARD1 include GP110 and LAMP4. A number of SCARD1 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Flow Cytometry is a widely used application for these antibodies. Western Blot, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
