Anti-RIMBP3C antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein RIMS binding protein 3C. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 1639 amino acid residues and a mass of 181 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. It is notably expressed in the testis. A member of the RIMBP protein family, RIMBP3C is a suspected component of the manchette, a microtubule-based structure which plays a key role in sperm head morphogenesis during late stages of sperm development. Synonyms for this target antigen include RIM-BP3.C and RIMS binding protein 3.3. RIMBP3C gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse and chimpanzee species.
