Anti-PI6 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the PI6 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the SERPINB6 gene, which encodes serpin family B member 6. This protein is suspected to be involved in the regulation of serine proteinases present in the brain or extravasated from the blood (By similarity). The human version of PI6 has a canonical amino acid length of 376 residues and a protein mass of 42.6 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the cytoplasm of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. Other names for this target antigen include CAP, DFNB91, and MSTP057.
