Anti-MBP-C antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target MBP-C is a known alias name of the protein mannose binding lectin 2, encoded by the MBL2 gene in humans. This 248-amino acid residue protein is known to be a calcium-dependent lectin involved in innate immune defense. The protein is secreted and features post-translational modifications. It is reported to be expressed in the liver. Other synonyms for MBP-C include COLEC1, HSMBPC, and MBL. These MBP-C antibodies are widely used in Western Blot experiments, among other applications.
