PON, or Paraoxonase 1, is a human gene encoded by PON1. It may also be known as: Serum paraoxonase/arylesterase 1; Aromatic esterase 1; A-esterase 1; K-45; Serum aryldialkylphosphatase 1 1; esterase A; arylesterase 1; MVCD5. The encoded protein is an enzyme with an amino acid length of 355 and a mass of 39.7 kDa. Other isoforms may exist. PON is a member of the Paraoxonase family. Homologs of this gene exist in other organisms, including: Mouse, Rat, Zebrafish, Frog.
