Anti-PLA2 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the PLA2 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the PLA2G1B gene, which encodes phospholipase A2 group IB. This protein is known to function in insulin signaling pathways, among other biological roles. The human version of PLA2 has a canonical amino acid length of 148 residues and a protein mass of 16.4 kilodaltons. It is reported to be a secreted protein that is notably expressed in the pancreas. Other names for this target antigen include PLA2A and PPLA2. Indicated applications for PLA2 antibodies listed below include ELISA and Western Blot.
