Anti-IRT1 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target IRT1 is a known alias name of the protein allograft inflammatory factor 1, encoded by the AIF1 gene in humans. This 147-amino acid residue protein is reported to be an actin-binding protein that enhances membrane ruffling and RAC activation. It is localized to the membrane and cytoplasm of the cell and features phosphorylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is notably expressed in T-lymphocytes and peripheral blood mononuclear cells.
