Anti-EIF2BA antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the EIF2BA antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the EIF2B1 gene, which encodes eukaryotic translation initiation factor 2B subunit alpha. This protein is known to function in carbohydrate metabolism and homeostasis, among other biological roles. The human version of EIF2BA has a canonical amino acid length of 305 residues and a protein mass of 33.7 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be widely expressed in many tissue types. Other names for this target antigen include EIF2B and EIF2Balpha.
