Anti-Genesis antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target Genesis is a known alias name of the protein forkhead box D3, encoded by the FOXD3 gene in humans. This 478-amino acid residue protein is known to bind to the consensus sequence 5'-A[AT]T[AG]TTTGTTT-3' and acts as a transcriptional repressor. It is localized to the nucleus of the cell. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be expressed in chronic myeloid leukemia, Jurkat T-cell leukemia and teratocarcinoma cell lines, but not in any other cell lines or normal tissues examined. The term AIS1 is another synonym for Genesis. Western Blot is the most common application for the Genesis antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
