Anti-HSD2 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the HSD2 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the HSD11B2 gene, which encodes hydroxysteroid 11-beta dehydrogenase 2. This protein is known to function in the response to xenobiotic compounds, among other biological roles. The human version of HSD2 has a canonical amino acid length of 405 residues and a protein mass of 44.1 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the ER of cells and notably expressed in many tissues, such as the appendix and colon. HSD2 is a member of the Short-chain dehydrogenases/reductases (SDR) protein family.
