Anti-gp80 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target gp80 is a known alias name of the protein interleukin 6 receptor, encoded by the IL6R gene in humans. This 468-amino acid residue protein is known to be a part of the receptor for interleukin 6. It is localized to the cell membrane and is secreted of the cell and features glycosylated and cleaved post-translational modifications. Other synonyms for gp80 include CD126, HIES5, and IL-1Ra. Western Blot is the most common application for the gp80 antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
