Anti-CCT antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the CCT antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the FLVCR2 gene, which encodes FLVCR heme transporter 2. This protein is known to act as a importer of heme. The human version of CCT has a canonical amino acid length of 526 residues and a protein mass of 57.2 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cell membrane of cells and notably expressed in many tissues, such as the appendix and cerebellum. CCT is a member of the Feline leukemia virus subgroup C receptor (TC 2.A.1.28.1) protein family.
