Anti-bNOS antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The bNOS antigen is another term for the human protein nitric oxide synthase 1, encoded by the NOS1 gene. The protein is known to function in the transport of ions, among other biological roles. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 1434 residues and a mass of 161 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane and it is expressed in the kidney, hippocampus, cerebral cortex, cerebellum, and caudate. The bNOS protein is a member of the NOS protein family. Other alias names for bNOS include IHPS1, N-NOS, and NC-NOS. Some bNOS antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
