Anti-Endostatin antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target Endostatin is a known alias name of the protein collagen type XVIII alpha 1 chain, encoded by the COL18A1 gene in humans. This 1754-amino acid residue protein is suspected to be plays a major role in determining the retinal structure as well as in the closure of the neural tube. In terms of tissue expression, it is notably expressed in the placenta. Other synonyms for Endostatin include collagen alpha-1(XVIII) chain, antiangiogenic agent, and collagen, type XVIII, alpha 1. A number of Endostatin antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Immunohistochemistry is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Western Blot are also common applications.
