Anti-5-HT6 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target 5-HT6 is a known alias name of the protein 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor 6, encoded by the HTR6 gene in humans. This 440-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in chemical synaptic transmission, among other biological processes. It is localized to the cell membrane of the cell. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be expressed in several human brain regions, most prominently in the caudate nucleus.
