Anti-BLOS1 antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The BLOS1 antigen is another term for the human protein biogenesis of lysosomal organelles complex 1 subunit 1, encoded by the BLOC1S1 gene. The protein is a known component of the BLOC-1 complex, a complex that is required for normal biogenesis of lysosome-related organelles (LRO), such as platelet dense granules and melanosomes. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 153 residues and a mass of 17.3 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria, lysosomes and cytoplasm and it is widely expressed in many tissue types. The BLOS1 protein is a member of the BLOC1S1 protein family. Other alias names for BLOS1 include BORCS1. Western Blot is a widely used application for the BLOS1 antibodies listed below. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
