Anti-4.1G antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the 4.1G antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the EPB41L2 gene, which encodes erythrocyte membrane protein band 4.1 like 2. This protein is known to function in the cell cycle, among other biological roles. The human version of 4.1G has a canonical amino acid length of 1005 residues and a protein mass of 112.6 kilodaltons, although 4 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cell membrane and cytoplasm of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. This target antigen may also be known as 4.1-G.
